Job Summary: The purpose of this role is to assist in providing legal support for various areas across CA. This includes drafting and negotiating agreements, advising on various legal issues as required by the business, conducting investigations and preparing associated reports and managing litigation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and assistance to various stakeholders within CA;
  • Draft and negotiate agreements including but not limited to player contracts, sponsorship agreements and other commercial arrangements;
  • Assist in managing disputes (including litigation) and claims made against CA;
  • Conduct investigations and prepare associated reports;
  • Adhere to policies and procedures at all times when carrying out duties;
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with others in the team and wider organisation;
  • Manage confidential information in accordance with relevant policies and procedures; and
  • Perform any additional tasks as directed by your supervisor or manager.

    Job Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB/JD);
  • Admission to practice as a lawyer in Australia;
  • Minimum 2 years post-admission experience gained in a law firm or in-house environment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure;
  • Highly developed organisational skills and attention to detail;
  • Experience in employment law would be advantageous; and
  • Knowledge of sports administration and/or experience working with athletes and sporting teams will also be highly regarded.
